I heard about this. The new SBA guidelines announced last week. If acquisition includes intangible assets in excess of $ 500K ( including but not limited to goodwill, client/customer lists, patents, etc ) the borrower and/or seller must provide an equity injection of at least 25% of the purchase price ( eg..borrower 15% & seller 10%). Big step in the right direction ; does not solve all financial issues but for the larger deals with good cash flow & documentation , is a positive sign ( effective 10-1-2009.)
