"Men Wanted: For hazardous journey. Small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in case of success." – Sir Ernest Shackleton.
This blog is devoted to the strategies and tactics used by self-made billionaires to become billionaires. The best route to this goal is through serial deal-making and not through the building of any single company. Deal-making is defined as the acquisition, improvement, and sale of appreciating assets, which in most cases will be operating businesses.
It's not really that difficult if you start one step at a time. That's how most billionaires do it: one step at a time.
The longest journey begins with but a single step. - Ancient Chinese Proverb
Deal-making is the fun way to make money as opposed to running the same business for several decades. Is there anything drearier than doing the same things over and over for 20 or 30 years? No wonder so many billionaires are vibrant and fully active into their 80s and 90s in contrast to single company builders who quickly burn out from the lack of variety.
Billionaires caught my eye long ago at a precocious age. I was probably about 10 or 12 at the time and have been following them ever since. Couple that interest with an equally strong one in economic history, and you can begin to see how this blog came to be.
-Who is this blog aimed at?
If you're a serious entrepreneur who wishes to explore deal-making as a means of growing your empire over the next ten years or more, please subscribe to my RSS Feed at top left on the main page.
If you're interested in buying or selling a business, do likewise.
-Who is this blog not aimed at?
I get some odd traffic here. By odd, I mean people doing searches on "how to become a billionaire in less than a year" or "how to become a billionaire without effort".
I didn't make these search terms up. They are genuine. People looking for a fast effortless way to become a billionaire (or anything of value) will be disappointed by their results in life. The only profession I know of that can be achieved quickly and effortlessly is that of CCP (Certified Couch Potato).
My course on deal-making is for successful entrepreneurs who wish to accelerate their business growth through deal-making. Yes, it teaches how to apply proven tried and true strategies and tactics employed by self-made billionaires, but there are no guarantees as to how far you will go with them.
The important thing is to set the intention to utilize the lessons and give it your best shot.
Life's a journey not a destination.
As with everything that I produce, this is also aimed at the underdog.
